CAL Statement on School Shooting in Uvalde, TX
As a community of people who work in classrooms across the U.S., CAL would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all the families in Uvalde, TX. We grieve with the entire Robb Elementary School community.
Educators and students should never feel unsafe in their teaching and learning environments. And parents and caregivers should not have to worry about their student’s safety after dropping them off.
America’s leaders and all of us must become involved in a coordinated effort to protect our and all children, families, and educators from gun violence through education efforts and the enactment and enforcement of sensible policies.
CAL is committed to continue advocating for a safe, inclusive, and equitable education for all students.
