This interactive presentation will focus on the first three of the Fundamental Principles of Effective Adult Language Education established by the Center for Applied Linguistics (2015): building on existing assets; ensuring relevance to learners’ needs; connecting to learners’ goals. Participants will engage in cooperative learning activities such as discussions, guided activities, and reflection to better understand how to implement instruction that meets the specific needs of their adult learners and embodies these learner-centered principles.
