Continuous Support of SIOP Model Implementation

Planning and implementing a comprehensive professional development program appropriate to your school’s or district’s demographics and instructional contexts can be challenging.

CAL can complement SIOP introductory and Review and Renew teacher workshops with program evaluation, job-embedded coaching and lesson study services to assist teachers as they learn and continue to incorporate the features of the SIOP Model into their lesson design and delivery. CAL also offers Two-Way SIOP workshops designed for dual language learners.

Lesson Plans and Activities
Students from non-English-speaking backgrounds are the fastest growing segment of the K-12 student population in the United States. An increasing number of these students are newcomers—recent arrivals to the United States who have limited or no English language proficiency and who often have had limited formal education in their native countries.

CAL continues to expand its online library of lesson plans and activities with our newest resources focused on using the SIOP Model with newcomers.
