Innovative Oakland High School for New Immigrant Students a Model in California

For many years, Oakland International High in Oakland, CA, has provided a point of entry for immigrant students, and a model for educating newcomers. The small alternative high school, which was the first of its kind in California when it opened in 2007, is one of 27 public schools or academies across the country that are part of the Internationals Network for Public Schools, which serve new immigrants.
